The latest chart we'll look at here shows the Gold Price Clues to what I believe* the "real" trend to be (regardless of the latest media hype or position):

UPDATE FOR: 2/01/09

I believe that the short-term True Price Trend for GOLD will stay UPWARDS until prices drop below the Golden Line illustrated. This is a short-term trend line ONLY.

The true longer-term trend for GOLD is included below to give you some perspective of the Big Picture . The trend has actually been DOWN over the last year, despite all the hype about GOLD. But . . .

*NOTE:  Now, we have come to the "Moment of Truth" for Gold. This  week Gold will have the opportunity to penetrate the Golden Line or bounce back downwards from it and continue it's downtrend trend.

If prices surge above this Golden Line, we will have confirmation of a new MAJOR TREND that will likely last many months and take prices above $1,000/oz.

There are 3 target price areas to watch for, but, the lowest  would be around $1,050 (in my opinion).

I'll give the other price objectives in later postings if the Golden Line is penetrated as this upward trend, if it happens, could be explosive and exponential if it occurs.   - George
